Safety isn't a feature — it's the foundation.

Connecting with new people should feel exciting — and safe. We've built real protections into Spedy and we keep improving them. But we'll always be honest with you: the most powerful safety tool is you, making smart choices. Here's our side of the deal, and yours.

What we do to protect you

We verify every Brydgee. Government ID + selfie, with the name on the ID matched to the account. In Panama, Brydgees also provide a police record (Récord Policivo) before they can offer experiences.

We screen every user at sign-up. Names are checked against government sanctions lists and the U.S. sex-offender registry, every uploaded photo is moderated for inappropriate content, and we flag profile photos found elsewhere online (a common catfish trick).

We protect your identity. Others only ever see your first name — never your full name, phone number, address, email, or your verification selfie.

We keep the conversation private. Calls and videos run in real time and are never recorded by Spedy.

We put you in control. Block or report anyone at any time — blocking ends the experience instantly and removes them from your matches. An in-app urgent-support button can alert our team and open your phone's emergency dialer in one tap.

We remove the small risks too. Experiences auto-end after 10 minutes of silence, so you're never charged for time you didn't use, and you always see the price before anything is charged.

What you can do — and we really encourage it

Build trust gradually — start with Text or Call before moving to Video.

Keep it on Spedy. Our safety tools only work inside the app. Spedy is digital and does not arrange in-person meetings — and meeting someone you met online always carries risk we can't protect you from.

Never share personal details — your home or work address, financial information, or ID numbers. A good Brydgee will never need them.

Assume anything on screen can be saved. Don't show anything — your face, your home, documents — you wouldn't want captured.

Trust your gut. If something feels off, you don't owe anyone an explanation. End the experience and use Block & Report.

Spot the red flags

Most people on Spedy are genuine. Bad actors tend to follow patterns — if you notice any of these, use Block & Report:

Anyone asking for money — direct payments, gift cards, crypto, "investments," loans, or "help me out." Payments only happen in the app; no one legitimate will ever ask you to pay them directly or off-platform.

Anyone trying to move you off Spedy — to WhatsApp, Telegram, email, or a phone number. Our tools don't work off-platform, and "let's talk somewhere else" is a common scam and grooming tactic.

Requests for intimate photos or video, or pressure of any kind. Never share intimate images. Anyone who threatens or pressures you (a "sextortion" tactic) is a threat — report immediately.

Asks for passwords, full card or bank numbers, or ID numbers. Spedy will never ask for these, and neither should anyone else.

Links or files from someone you just met. Don't click or open them.

Anything involving a minor. Spedy is strictly for adults (18+). If an account appears to involve anyone under 18, report it right away.

If something goes wrong

Block & Report the user — it ends the experience immediately and sends it to our team to review.

Contact Spedy support through the app for anything that needs a human.

In a real emergency, call 911 (or your local emergency number) directly. Our in-app button can help you get there fast, but it is not an emergency dispatch service.

The bottom line — please read this

We've built real safeguards and we'll never stop improving them, because your safety genuinely matters to us. But no app can guarantee how another person will behave, and our checks are safeguards, not guarantees — we do not run fingerprint or court-record background checks, and no screening can catch everyone. You use Spedy at your own discretion and risk, you are responsible for your own safety and your choices, and Spedy is not responsible for the conduct of other users. We will always tell you to be careful and give you the tools to protect yourself — but staying safe is ultimately up to you. Full details are in our Terms of Service.
